In 2012, I was invited by Myanmar artist, Moe Satt , to participate in a performance art exchange between Myanmar and Malaysia artists. During preliminary research time in Mandalay, we witnessed a night protest over the constant power outages, a real source of discomfort in the hot climate. Our final production was a form of performance protest in front of the palace in Mandalay. I folded myself into a plastic floor mat and rolled down the sidewalk. At some point, the performance was stopped. We were arrested, detained, and subsequently deported.
